Police find no other involvement in diplomat's death

The Jakarta Police confirmed that no other individuals were involved in the death of Arya Daru Pangayunan (ADP), a young diplomat at the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, earlier this month

"Indicators showed that ADP died without the involvement of other parties," Director of General Crimes Investigation in the Jakarta Police, Senior Commissioner Wira Satya Triputra, stated at a press conference on Tuesday.

He explained that this conclusion was reached after an investigation involving experts from various fields.

"The investigators concluded that there was no criminal incident related to the victim's death," Triputra remarked, adding that no signs of violence were found on the victim's body.

According to the director, their Mobile Research Sub-directorate requested testimonies from 26 witnesses, of which 24 responded while the other two did not.

"The investigators have also collected 103 pieces of evidence from several places related to the victim's profile, including his office, boarding house, as well as from his family and other witnesses," he added.

ADP was found dead by a boarding house guard on the morning of July 8 in his room in Menteng Sub-district, Central Jakarta, with duct tape wrapped around his head. His body was autopsied at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) to determine the cause of death.

President Prabowo Subianto has earlier called for a thorough investigation by law enforcement into the death of the young diplomat.

"The president has entrusted law enforcement officials to conduct the investigation as thoroughly as possible," State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi stated during a press conference at the Presidential Palace complex on Friday (July 25).
